Smith & Loveless Inc. - Your Proven Wastewater Treatment Partner for more than 75 Years

Smith & Loveless is pleased to partner with you and your consulting firm to achieve your clean water sustainability goals. We are a long-established manufacturer of wastewater treatment systems, membrane bioreactors (MBRs), filters, and fluid-handling systems such as pump stations. With more than 75 years in business, we are well-known and established as clean water experts, including in the wine industry, where many of our systems have operated for years and even decades.
Our engineered treatment systems are known for being simple to own and operate while performing efficiently over time to meet your clean water goals.
We are proud to have served many Northern California wineries for more than 25 years, including classic wineries, bottling facilities, and large corporate wineries. We offer a diverse array of wastewater treatment solutions tailored to meet your needs and flows — including advanced membrane/MBR solutions ideal for addressing the unique characteristics of winery wastewater and water reuse. Smith & Loveless' established TITAN MBR™, adapted for winery operations, is our featured pre-engineered wastewater treatment system for winery applications. This factory-built system is delivered to your winery, ready for piping and startup.

We have also launched the TITAN MEM-BOX™ and OXIGEST MBR™ solutions to upgrade existing activated sludge treatment systems to MBR-level treatment and water reuse. These solutions can assist corporate wineries requiring high-level effluent quality for large flows, ranging from 0.1 million gallons per day (MGD) up to 3 MGD in a single system train.

For small to medium wineries requiring sub-surface locations and/or sub-surface discharge (including drip irrigation), S&L offers the proven fixed-film S&L Modular FAST® treatment technology. This system helps accommodate wide variations in flows, minimizes odors, and can be discreetly located onsite. This technology has been successfully applied in Napa, including in a wine cave.

Visit us at the 2025 Unified Wine & Grape Symposium at booths A2525 upstairs in Grand Ballroom A and Booth 1018 in the center of the main floor with our representative, Ryan Process.
