LyondellBasell’s (LYB) La Porte, Texas complex underwent a major expansion that included construction of a first-of-its-kind commercial-scale Hyperzone HDPE plant, significantly increasing onsite personnel. The growth created a challenge because existing centralized wastewater infrastructure could not accommodate domestic sewage from new remote facilities and administrative buildings. To maintain operational continuity and environmental compliance, a decentralized sanitary wastewater treatment solution was required. Smith & Loveless provided an S&L FAST® Treatment System with a 5,500 GPD capacity to effectively treat wastewater and support the expanded workforce.
