California’s Most Eco-Friendly Winery Incorporates TITAN MBR™

CASE STUDY: Treatment Systems

When a successful NAPA valley winery constructed an additional winery, the ownership wanted to create the world’s greenest winery, with eco-friendly materials and production methods. Combined with low water fixtures, energy-efficient windows and doors, and solar panels, the installation of a high-rate membrane bioreactor wastewater treatment system helped the winery achieve LEED Platinum Certification for a newly constructed facility, the highest designation for green building and a first for a winery anywhere in the United States.

The winery design team specified and installed the Smith & Loveless’ TITAN MBR™ membrane bioreactor system. The system efficiently reclaims winery production wastewater for reuse around it’s facility, including toilet flushing and other secondary uses.
