Executed by the water service company Aljarafesa in the Las Moreras community development of the picturesque town of Bollullos de la Mitación in the province of Seville, this innovative pump station efficiently transfers wastewater to the Palomares del Río treatment plant, bolstering the environmental management system in the Aljarafe region.
In alignment with Aljarafesa's commitment to technical, environmental, social, and economic considerations, the company strategically chose the latest cutting-edge pump station technology. This decision aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal 6 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, emphasizing the supply of clean water and sanitation for all. Aljarafesa implemented the Smith & Loveless EVERLAST™ packaged pumping system, featuring high-efficiency motors designed for wastewater to curtail energy consumption costs and minimize the carbon footprint. Notably, all mechanical equipment is positioned above ground and outside the wet well, eliminating confined space hazards for operator personnel during routine maintenance and operation, a significant departure from prevailing submersible pumps. The system was factory-assembled, rigorously tested, and shipped as a complete package to the project site for seamless installation.
