Tens of thousands of proven Smith & Loveless Non-Clog Pumps convey wastewater around the world, providing reliable service day-in and day-out. Our bold pump design retains several high standards, including oversized bearings and stainless-steel pump shafts, bronze mechanical seals for superior heat dissipation, close tolerances that prevent recirculation and a keyed and tapered shaft for positive lock and easy impeller removal. The result is decades of highly-efficient pumping.
Available in vacuum-primed and flooded suction configurations for above-grade and underground pumping stations or bare pump use, Smith & Loveless Non-Clog Pumps come with trimmed impellers for optimum selection and high efficiency operation. This pump is designed to last.

Features & Benefits

Strongest Pump Shaft - Smith & Loveless pumps boast the largest pump shaft in the industry. Larger shafts have less shaft overhang, which is a determining factor in the amount of shaft deflection the mechanical seal endures

Streamlined for Ease of Maintenance - Full access to the volute and suction elbow is possible by merely removing the capscrews and raising the entire rotating assembly.

Superior Mechanical Seal Design - Smith & Loveless pumps are equipped with a bronze mechanical seal, which allows heat dissipation. Because bronze is a non-ferrous material, it prevents abrasive iron oxide from forming in the seal assembly. It also prevents seal pieces from rusting together and impeding maintenance. Smith & Loveless pumps are designed so that the mechanical seal can be accessed and replaced in less than 30 minutes. All seals will eventually wear down, but proper maintenance extends seal life up to 7 years on average.

Impeller Design - Equipped with heavy cast iron, balanced impellers. Impellers are custom trimmed for each application. Only vains are trimmed; shrouds are left full diameter to prevent solids and stringy matter from accumulating around the shaft. The tight clearance between the impeller and front head minimizes recirculation, improving efficiency. The shaft and impeller bores are tapered for easy removal.

Vacuum Priming

As the name implies, Wet Well Mounted Pump Stations position on top of the wet well and use suction-lift to prime and pump for wet well depths reaching 25 feet. Smith & Loveless calls this vacuum-priming.

The Smith & Loveless Vacuum Priming System is a simple, proven process that includes just three basic components: (1) a Sonic Start® Streamline™ prime sensor, (2) a solenoid valve and (3) a vacuum pump. From a totally non-primed condition, the system primes the pump in about sixty (60) seconds under standard rated conditions. Once the Smith & Loveless Pump is primed, it is designed to stay primed indefinitely.

Employing frequency modulation, the Sonic Start® Streamline™ prime sensing replaces the traditional S&L electrode. Because it is not prone to foul in applications with excessive grease or chemicals, SONIC START™ Streamline eliminates all traditional routine maintenance tasks associated with vacuum-priming and delivers the world’s most hassle-free wastewater pumping.

Another exciting new feature is CONSTANT PRIME™. This optional control setting continually senses whether or not the pump is primed. If loss of prime occurs, the vacuum-prime sequence will activate to maintain prime. This ensures instant pump start-up when the pump is called to run.
